Support And Fellowship...

Adults of all ages participate in mutual support and fellowship at SJPC. Some of the fellowship and growth opportunities for all adults include:

Women
Presbyterian Women (PW) is the national women's organization of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). SJPC's Presbyterian Women are organized into several "circles" that meet monthly for Bible Study and fellowship. The circles meet during the day and in the evening. All members meet together in January, March, May, September and November for the PW Gatherings. PW also sponsors an annual Mother's Day Luncheon in May.

The Presbyterian Women’s purpose, according to its national website, is:
Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:

  • to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
  • to support the mission of the church worldwide,
  • to work for justice and peace,
  • and to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.

The Angel Circle of SJPC offers mothers of young children the opportunity to meet other moms with similar experiences and needs. Click here for more information.

Men
Programs for men at SJPC include:

  • Dedicated Dads
  • Coffee and Conversation
  • Saturday Morning Breakfast at SJCC

Seniors
SJPC’s senior adult ministry, nicknamed “SAM,” is a vital part of its ministry to older members and their friends. This ministry includes lunches, trips, retreats, programs, calls, letters and special fellowship. The fellowship created by this ministry further nourishes the bonds between older members in addition to providing regular interesting activities.

Homebound Members
SJPC cares deeply for its homebound members. Through a lay-led shepherding program, each homebound member receives calls, visits, copies of the sermon tapes, and special care from his or her shepherd. SJPC also ensures that its homebound members celebrate the sacrament of communion.
