volunteer for this great event.
GENERAL
ASSEMBLY BRIEF will
be held on Wednesday, July 21 at 10am and 5:30PM in Harvin Hall.
Dr. Kolb will make a presentation on some
of the actions of the Assembly and be available to take and answer
questions.
SUMMER
“INFORMAL” SUNDAY SCHOOL
CLASS: Anybody
who would like to read and discuss C. S. Lewis's Books "The Screwtape Letters"
and "The Great
Divorce" are welcome join us in the Parlor on Sundays
at 9:00 am. There will be interesting
discussions and fun conversations. If you don't have a book
we can supply one, you can come anytime so please join us as we
ponder these great classics! If you have any questions
please let Jim

summer schedule, there is no nursery or children’s Sunday
school during this time.

teach a Sunday or two this summer! We are filled for

ANNUAL
UCOM FOOD DRIVE : Sunday, August 1!
Start collecting canned goods and other non-perishable food
items for our annual food drive to support UCOM.
Empty
grocery bags will be distributed July 25. Fill them and return to
the church on or before August 1! High Volume/Most
needed Items Include: Canned Tuna, Tuna Helper,
Peanut Butter, jelly, Canned Meats, Canned Fruit, Canned
Vegetables, Canned Pasta, Canned Milk, Potatoes (can or box), Mac
& Cheese, Cereal. Thanks for
participating! UCOM Emergency Services Food Bank appreciates the
ongoing support of SJPC!
SUMMER
MISSION TRIP TO NEW ORLEANS : July 31- August
7. The youth are in the courtyard after worship
raising money for a trip
to New Orleans for a week of working with the Presbyterian
Outreach Ministry of Slidell helping to rebuild the city and
lives. Please consider donating!

NIGHT:

fun and popular event!

& FILM MOVIE NIGHT:
Come
to Montgomery on Friday, Aug. 27
for dinner and to join other Presbyterians in
watching a movie and discussing the theological implications.
Information can be
found in the Enrichment ’10 brochures. Enjoy an
overnight stay at Montgomery before Enrichment ’10!

our presbytery’s annual premier educational
event, is Saturday, August
28; 9am – 3pm at Montgomery Presbyterian Center .
Registration forms/brochures are available at the
Ask-Me-Desk, on the “Enrichment ’10 bulletin board, or in the
narthex. Come experience your choice of 2 out of 18 workshops on
all sorts of interesting subjects. Cost is $20 per
person for workshops & lunch ($25 after Aug. 21).
Childcare provided ($15 /child) with early
registration by Aug. 21! This event is
enjoyed by hundreds of Presbyterians in our presbytery – won’t you
join us this year?

“Faith Questions, Faith Answers”
THE
LEUKEMIA AND LYMPHOMA SOCIETY sponsors “Team in Training”
marathon, half-marathon and triathlon events around the
United States to raise money for the goal of finding a cure for
leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma. Jonathan Soud’s
older sister Natalie will be participating in the Nike Women’s
San Francisco
Marathon on October 17, 2010 in honor of her brother
Jonathan as he fights his recently diagnosed
leukemia. If you would like to make a donation to

on Monday August 9th! Plan to
attend this popular outing. We plan to leave the church at
10:45 a.m. We do need drivers, so if you are able to drive
and take some extra friends, please let us know. You can
